I originally started this for "The Gift" contest at #DarkArt-Challenges and/or "The Familiar" contest at #ManipulateThis - but I didn't finish in time.

I had a hard time coming up with a title, finally decided on "Delicacies" as the eyeballs are a treat, a delicacy for her familiar.

First impressions are that I like the idea behind it very much. That said, the first thing that definitely stands out to me as needing work are the candles. They just really look like they're not so much a part of the picture as on top of it.

The way to fix the candles is always lightest around the base where the wick is (which you did a bit but not extreme enough) and then shadow the grooves of the wax, deepest:darkest and the highest lighter. A bit of work but it really makes a difference.

The skulls need shadowing also. That close to the candles they're going to have harsh differences in the shadow tones. I actually look online for actual pictures of whatever I'm trying to shadow so I can get an idea of how the shadows and light should fall cause lets be honest not everyone has a skull bumping around their house on such occasions!

The raven needs light on his right side reflecting the candle light and the girl needs light on her as well. If you look at her face the highlight is showing to the left side of her face but the candles are on the right so that needs to be corrected. Also I think she could definitely use some contrasting on her dress and skin. Again, think about where she is in relation to the candles and how the night would probably be pretty dark so the candle light is going to make a kind of glow to her skin and then throw harsh shadows as well.

Again as I said, I really like this one. I think she just needs some final touches to be perfect.

Hope this helped.
