Hi there

First I'd like to commend our members for putting forth an amazing effort on assignment 2! You all did a fantastic job & are already showing improvement in your works!

Now, a quick announcement: I'll be away from dA for the next week or so. I will be around on a very limited basis for members of this group so if something comes up that can't wait, send me a note. If you're even remotely interested in my personal life, you can read my journal here [link] for the details behind my impending absence. When I return, I'll be posting a feature of member works from assignment 2 and we'll be having a critique chat for members. Non-members are welcome to attend and give critique, however only members can submit a piece to be critiqued; one piece per member please.

I leave you with a series of excellent video tutorials by SycraArt on composition. These tutorials are not specific to photomanipulation but I feel they'll be very helpful to you in your art and for assignment 3, which will deal with advanced blending. After that, we'll have our first members-only challenge! We'd love to be able to offer a small prize to the winner of the challenge, which will be determined by a poll to be posted at our sister group, TheArtOfManipulation - donations of points, journal features, or exclusive stock/resources/tutorials would be greatly appreciated!
